iMAP endeavours to integrate learning and participatory activities into our performances.
It includes:
- workshops in schools that lead to participation in our concerts.
- workshops and classes in the community
Using classical music and instrumentation, iMAP has to-date developed and delivered projects based on the
principle of participation and inclusion.
Our major partner organisations and institutions include:
- The Confucius Institute, University of Edinburgh, Set up to promote educational, economic and cultural ties
between Scotland and China, iMAP collaborate with the institute on cultural programmes, i.e. Chinese
instruments and workshops on themes related to modern China.
- City of Edinburgh Council: OOSHLA Projects (2004-06)
- Perth and Kinross Council (2007-09)
- the RSAMD, Glasgow: we provided workshops and collaborated in developing modules for Chinese and
intercultural creative music courses (2005-06)
- the University of Edinburgh, Inter-cultural Music Course (2010)
